Are you a frequent traveler or a person who likes stylish things? Either way, I want to share a new find – the Shootsac Hip Slip!

I’ve bought many laptop bags in the past. Some have great features, but end up being very heavy. Some are really light in weight, but end up lacking features. Until recently, I could never have both.

Jessica Claire and Keats Elliot engineered a new Shootsac product called “Hip Slip,” which is a laptop bag that is chic and light weight. It has a number of nice features:

  • 3 main compartments (one in front, one for laptop and one in back)
  • Laptop zipper has inner lip to avoid scratches
  • Removable inner cushion for various laptop sizes
  • Detachable shoulder straps
  • Interchangeable covers
  • AIRPORT FRIENDLY (just place entire bag through security without needing to remove laptop)

Notice the inner zipper lip, which will protect the laptop from scratches.

Check out the detachable shoulder straps via industrial clips.

AIRPORT FRIENDLY – my favorite feature!

Just for the record, they did not ask me to do this. I just like to share good products I find, and this is one of them.

Sincerely,

P.S. Whenever I go to airports, you can find me in the following queue hehe

After seeing it today in person, it looks very functional and perfect. I can’t wait until my Timbuk2 bag gets run over and mangled by my neighbor’s dog to buy one of these! Thanks for taking the time for the thorough review Lawrence!

This bag is NOT airport compatible. The TSA specifies that you cannot have pockets in front of or behind the laptop as it goes through a scanner. The rest of the bag needs to fold away from the laptop compartment which this does not do.

While it might have worked once, it does not mean it is compliant with the regulations. Most “messenger-style” bags are not TSA compliant.

Any sleeve (no pockets), or bag that butterflies or tri-folds open (separating the laptop pocket from the rest of the pockets) will work – this one definitely does not.

Nice bag, just explaining the legal issues so people can shop with correct info.

David – you just need to make sure that the laptop is the only thing in there (such as putting the cords on the side). Well, I’ve used it at the 23 flights in te last 3 weeks and no complaints thus far from TSA.
