Creative Pricing and Packaging for Photographers

Join other wedding and portrait photographers in effectively pricing and packaging their services through the psychological understanding behind consumption.

pricing for profit If you’re wondering what the best way is to package your services and to properly price your worth – you’re not alone.

Creative Pricing and Packaging for Photographers is a downloadable PDF e-book designed to help you better convey your worth to your clients in such a way that engages interest and commitment.

144 Pages Contain:

  1. A breakdown of psychological triggers that affect a consumer’s willingness and hesitations to purchase
  2. Deeper understanding through world applications as to WHY we buy
  3. Powerful strategies on HOW you can apply them into your own business.

This 3-step approach will help you understand the strategy and why it works by relating them to your own life and how it can build your business.

Since implementing Lawrence’s Pricing Strategies, I have closed 100% of my wedding inquiries so far. And last week I booked a wedding a day. Before, I would be lucky if I closed 50% of my inquiries.

I’ve only been receiving serious inquiries due to my new strategies [and I now know who to not] waste my time with. And thanks to Lawrence, clients are now booking my larger collections and I haven’t had to haggle prices, either. So thank you very much for being so generous with your experience and knowledge – thanks to you my 2011 is looking spectacular! ♥

Who Can Maximize This Book

This book is targeted for creative professionals in all stages of their business including:

  • photographers who just started and don’t have a solid price sheet
  • photographers who feel they are undervalued, but don’t know how to raise prices without scaring away prospects
  • those who want to be competitively priced against other photographers
  • those who struggle between packages (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…?) or a la carte
  • how to have clients focus on your work and not on how to discount (more than what I’ve already shared online)
  • And more…

This book is NOT a silver bullet. It will, however, guide you into realizing which options fit you best. You’ll get to download the ebook immediately after checkout! It comes in a .zip file, so please download it to your computer and extract it prior to transferring to iPad or iPhone.

I have been in this business for a very long time and I kind of consider myself an expert on pricing. And I’ve tried a little of everything over the years – packages, a la carte, all kinds of stuff.

But anytime Lawrence is talking, I’m always listening. I always pick up a couple of great nuggets that I’m always going to apply to my business. Today was no exception. In fact, today there were a couple of things I took down in my notes. I’ve promised Lawrence that I’ll always give him credit when I steal his ideas because he’s really a brilliant guy and I absolutely loved the [book].

Money is one of the hardest things to figure out – what to charge, how to charge. Photography is one thing, but building a business and knowing what to charge is so important.

Pricing is every bit of an art form in running a business and doing your pricing and I really think this will help you out.

Overall, the strategies will help you craft a powerful pricing presentation and give you the tools to sell with confidence.

We just wanted to give you a rave about your pricing and packaging teachings. We just booked a $7K bride for the St. Regis using your tactics.

After completing your e-book, we redid our packaging to remove all the suffocating choices (our pricing used to be in a 17 pg. catalog). We refused to discount. We discussed the package pricing as you suggested. We took out all the fluff, no other prints, just 1 album.

We were able to meet the bride and groom and had them sold after just a half hour, the shortest meeting we’ve had. Your tactics work!

Lawrence’s Price Sheet

The book provides wonderful examples as to how the psychology of pricing and packaging works, but my personal 5-page price sheet will embody all that was discussed. Feel free to use and alter it to fit your needs.

Further Help

If you still prefer a personal consultation on this matter, you may commission 2-hours time and I will help you construct a custom price sheet. However, I’m very confident that the e-book coupled with my actual pricing guide will suffice.

How is this different from the first book?

The original strategies are elaborated and clarified. However, there is about 50% new content that is worth reading.

Is it worth to upgrade?

Definitely yes. If you have gained from the first book, then you should know that the ROI (return on investment) is quick.

ashleigh taylor Everyone struggles with pricing. The strategies in here are strategies that any business can apply.

Just by adjusting the packages so that it makes more sense will help clients commit to me easier and understand my value. It’s hard to explain the inherent value, so this information will definitely help.

I definitely feel more comfortable after reading this ebook. It was a lot of information that made so much sense and so well organized. I feel like that I will be able to apply everything that he’s taught…and I have ideas rolling through my head right now about what I can do.

I really feel confident now… And I’m going to change things up to maximize benefits for my bride and myself.

Just like what [b]ecker was saying earlier, anytime Lawrence is talking, I’m always ears open. This guy is a genius. He really really knows what he’s talking about.

So whatever market you’re in – whether pet groomer or photographer – the nice thing is that you can apply [these pricing and packaging strategies] to everything.

greg bumatay …eye-opening information. One thing I definitely walked away with was understanding the psychology of choosing – being able to simplify the choices in developing a pricing strategy for my brides.

This is a great resource for photographers especially those who are starting out. We always have questions like, “how much should we charge?” or “what am I worth?” or “how do I create barriers?” and so forth. I actually teach at Cypress College, but I came away learning how to further simplify my presentation and have a better understanding of what my brides’ needs are.

I came away with so many ideas… And I highly recommend this.

amy zumwalt I have read your blog religiously and found it to be (duh) very helpful. I’m one of those artsy-fartsy, ADHD, “why doesnt my business take off just because i’m a badass artist” types.. the part between sales and the talent is completely greek to me.

I picked up my first dslr in september of 09. and just had my first wedding consultation this past sunday. (never really had a client find me online and meet me for a consult). but thanks to what i’ve read from you, along with my refusal to work for less than what I believe I’m worth, I booked the wedding on Sunday for 4800. totally did all that after your package blog and really felt confident about what i was offering even though 4800 for 6 hrs of photography and an engagement session is really high for my area.

I am so confident in my pricing and why I include what I include, that I was really able to come across as a vendor who knew what she would really want when all was said and done, even though [the bride] admittedly didnt know what she wanted yet. I felt like I was successful at making myself look trustworthy, knowledgeable, and worth the extra money – and I’M A TERRIBLE SALESPERSON!

I’m sort of bragging right now because (a) i’m stoked (b) no one around here charges that much (bc they’re SILLY) and (c) because I honestly feel like you are succeeding GREATLY at what you do. Not only are you a great marketing strategist, but you are great at teaching ME how to do what will work for me.

I hated at first that you wouldn’t just come out and say “here, do this!”.. but of course that’s brilliant on your part.

You are an excellent leader. You should do seminars like … good at inspiring and informing other photographers. (wait.. do you already do them? if so, i’m embarrassed)

POINT…

thank you

and

you are VERY good at this.

and

the better you are at getting wedding photographers to charge for their work, the better life will be for all photographers. seriously, thanks. and more power to ya.

Basically I feel confident about my decisions because I feel like there’s Lawrence Chan out there in my corner! LOL
Amy Zumwalt

We read Lawrence’s pricing e-book and studied the strategies he outlined in the book. Next we re-wrote our entire price guide and modeled it after the one Lawrence uses.

Our average wedding client over the past 3 years has been $3k. After meeting with our first potential client using the new price guide and techniques, they booked us yesterday at …$5900. Just wanted to say thank you Lawrence for sharing your thoughts and ideas as it has significantly helped us to put together a more polished price guide as well as proven to be successful right out of the gate!

Jeremiah Colling

I’ve learned how to make myself more attractive just in pricing by creating value and trust. This is going to be valuable for anyone who wants to take this to a professional level.

As a new photographer, pricing can be very overwhelming and scary. After reading what Lawrence had to say, I had a lot of things demystified. I feel very confident now! I can go home and get busy.

I really recommend what Lawrence has to say. Whether you’re experienced or brand new, buy the ebook. It’s good.

His teachings have helped me to achieve a higher value as photographer and, believe it or not, by applying them to other aspects of my personal life, including my “day job” I’ve been able to achieve tremendous positive results.

Pricing Strategy came at the right moment when some (like me) are battling to start and dedicate full time to a new business while others are struggling to stay afloat in the rough waters of the current economy changes.

Thank you for sharing.
Gabriel Mora

I definitely had issues with confidence to put together packages that I thought made sense to me and my target client.

I absolutely and honestly would recommend this ebook. I think that pricing is very elusive for a lot of people. It’s something that we definitely lack confidence in. It’s nice to have to tools to understand where to start and where to go forward. And to help our business grow!
Melissa Brandman

Photographers should be concerned about pricing just as much as technique. Nowadays, technology is so good. Therefore, pricing structure and strategies are essential. The aim is to cut the noise out and connect with my clients not on pricing, but on personality and style.
