About

My name is Lawrence Chan. I am a lover of tofu, cartoons, Chipotle and taking pictures. I am a wedding marketing consultant by day and movie goer by night. And yeah, I am the Lord of Catan.

I was born / raised and still reside in sunny Southern California – Los Angeles. Despite the smog and traffic, I still make by with my sanity because of all of the conveniences. However, I do have intentions to move to either Vancouver, Canada or France…maybe both! I’m still unsure of how I’m going to achieve that, but you crossing my toes really tightly gives me hope.

So aside from offering occasional software developments for fun, I am a marketing strategist. This includes individual photography companies (contact me) to larger corporate planning – clients include Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine and WPPI. Like in my wedding photography website’s profile, “I never planned to go this route, but life unfolds in the weirdest of ways.”

Stumbling upon your blog half a year ago was probably one of the best things that could have happened for me. As a timid, aspiring photographer trying to take baby steps to make a late career change, your site offers a wealth of information and insight into the wedding business that I can’t get anywhere else. Thanks for your products, tips, recommendations, and most of all your willingness to help others. You rock!

Since I met you during a workshop (2008) I fell in love with photography as a fine art and its application on wedding photography.
My work still rough and in process but thanks to all your tutorials, workshops and tips I’ve been polishing my skills and reaching new, higher standards.
I’m your biggest fan, (not to be confused with stalker or any other ackward feeling, LOL )
I follow and admire your progress, your dedication, enthusiasm and altruism.
Your work has been an inspiration and motivation for me and, I’m sure, for many.
Thank you again for all your help.
May God pour an unstoppable rain of blessings full of good health and prosperity.

I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you! Your video tutorials and themes were exactly what I was looking for. I was so lost and confused when it came to starting my own site. But your step by step videos gave me what I needed and I now have my own site (using the Soft Tofu theme of course) to showcase my work and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you for being so giving of your time and expertise.
