If there was a competition at WPPI for not the prettiest booth, I would win hand’s down! I’m just glad that they still let me do my thang.
PROMISE – next year it’s going to be wicked. I have some insane, never done before, type ideas.
For those who missed out, I was doing one-on-one marketing consultation and giving away a photo booth software (last year samples). And for those who patiently waited to speak to me, there was Julie’s OLD SCHOOL Nintendo to play with! Thank you Jen May for the picture.

Overall, it was a lot of fun! I got to see old friends and make many new ones! Plus, it was an opportunity to get away from my desk and play…

Well, the photos are not entirely true.
- I am not a monster from Indiana Jones
- I am actually not a big deal (quite small potatoes in my humble opinion)
Thanks to Candice Cunningham for the badge stickers!
Grace Ormonde
Grace Ormonde (@grace_ormonde) was actually in town that week to photograph tables, linen, decor and food from various 5-star resorts for her coming issue. So I asked her to swing by WPPI to say a few words.
She was so gracious to speak on Tuesday and to do a portfolio review on Wednesday! Grace was very impressed with the work submitted.
Thanks to Mike Larson for helping with some wicked camera toss photographs!

Cover Submissions
Yes, Grace is still accepting cover submissions. The instructions seem simple enough!
…I talked about picking one image for my next cover at WPPI. If you’re interested in submitting an image, please submit it here and title it “COVER” so that I will know.
For those who were there, I like images that move me – especially ones of sexy couples!

Hardware
This software does not use any proprietor hardware, so use whatever you want. However, this is what I used at WPPI –
- HP Touchscreen (Mac compatible too, but no touchscreen yet)
- Logitech Pro 9000 webcam
- Printer – Epson

NOTE: I do not offer support for this. I’m not a software developer (I do that for fun). I am a marketing consultant, so yeah… Enjoy!

P.S. Grace Ormonde is hosting a 20-city launch party for her brand spankin’ new book – very snazzy places! I have a few tickets to share, so be sure to be on the mailing list!

Your booth was cozy and comfortable though! My kids loved the bean bag chairs. . . and come on, you had the throw back Nintendo!
sad I did not get to hang as much but was so cool seeing you speak, and thanks for the opportunity to send our pictures

Next year for sure! LMK when your around the Bay Are again and I’ll take to one of my new favorite Mexican places that’s NOT Chipotle.
Thanks Lawrence… looks great, I’m sure it would work great if I had a PC but glad I don’t. Great briefly seeing you in Vegas. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Lawrence! You know, I’ve been waiting for this since last year! hahah BUT THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR PHOTOBOOTH SOFTWARE!!

Uh oh…I guess it’s not for Mac users… :/
It’s compatible for both because it is using Adobe Air, but there’s no built-in touch screen Macs yet.
Hey Lawrence…not sure how this is compatible with Adobe Air as I cant seem to figure out how to run an .exe file through AIR. Loving your work though…just need to find a dam PC!
Thanks again for the software!!! Can someone tell me which hardware is the best to support this software.
Thanks
Mike
HP 20″ Touchsmart 300-1003 Touchscreen LCD PC with AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor & Windows 7 Home Premium
would this work in Win 7?
Yes! 64 bit as well!
OK, so where do I go to see a panda floating in my hot beverage? That, my friends, is the real question here.
Thanks Lawrence!!!
Anyone else having problems running it?
You need to have a webcam running. If there isn’t, it will not proceed.
Thanks again
Hi Lawrence,
Thanks for the Photobooth Software.
I’m still trying to make it work on my mac. haha!
Is this the exact copy of the last year booth software?
No this is not the same. This version does not limit users to the number of copies.
Awsome, so now we can do duplicates!! My clients will love me!!
I already have this software and it works great! Sad that I paid for it though
I need someone to write a script to make it print 2+ copies though! Anyone want to develop it
It’s a lot of fun!
Lawrence,
I still play my old school Nintendo too. So fun! So all week, I went by your booth to meet you and talk about photo booth stuff and you were PACKED. I finally stood in line the last day and then when I got to you (yesss) you went on break (noooo). ::smiles:: I was that one if you remember. You had a busy week. Anyway, just wanted to say nice to meet you and thank you for the photo booth software. I’m signing up to get it again because I don’t know where I saved it.
Do you suggest a plexiglass booth like you have?
Plexi-glass is good except that it can crack if under enough weight. Otherwise, it’s pretty neat!
I know the guy that has the red arrow! Sounds like fun!
Haha. I’m the guy with the arrow pointing at me in the last photo. Mike said to play it cool, but I just couldn’t help myself. What can I say, I’m always looking for a laugh.
Thanks Lawrence for such a great booth and introducing me to Grace (it’s my photos she’s holding in the last couple of photos).
Super Mario Bros. was a sweet touch.
Hey Matt!
Love your expression!!! Glad you had a good time
Grace is a wonderful woman.
Cheers,
Lawrence
software is great. thank you!
Thank you so much for the software – have some questions
Is it compatible with XP or Vista?
What light(s) do you use in the booth?
Couldn’t make it to WPPI – anyone have pics of a booth they are willing to share so I can get a better idea of the layout?
You’re just too cool for words Lawrence… so I’ll be quiet now
Great idea for the photo booth software… thanks for sharing.
I set this up on a gateway touch screen at 1600×900, but I can not see all of the text lines to edit. Any suggestions? Do I need to have an HP?
Also…would love to know about the Camera Toss…was that just any camera…love the photo. Any photos of the actual photo booth…I could not make it this year.
thanks MIKE
Mike Larson used a 1D MIII set with a 5 shutter burst at a 2-second delay.
Its actually a 1D mark 4 with a 5 shutter burst on the variable exposure control 1/3 +/-!
Wondered what printers everyone is using ?
Yes, I would also like to know which printers people are using. I tried a HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-One that I had sitting idle and it only wants to print on 8.5 X 11. I would actually like to use a light low end printer if possible.
If for fun, use a Cannon Selphy… If for business Sony Snap Labs are great!!
I did a hard reboot on the Photosmart 3310 and now it is playing like a good boy with the software. I’ll be putting the complete system to the test this Saturday at a high school event.
Hey Lawrence! Thanks so much for sharing this software. You’re awesome! Does anyone know if it will work with a canon 50d? Or does it have to be a web cam? I ran it on my hp with vista and I loose my courser once I set the parameters. Anyone else having this problem or is it a vista thing? Any way around it? I’m looking for an excuse to buy a hp touch screen anyways. Thanks!
It’s supposed to be touch screen so the mouse is hidden
You’re welcome to use any cam but it uses the live feed.
Thanks Lawrence! I guess I’ll just have to go and buy that touch screen now…….It’s the excuse I’ve been waiting for. Appreciate the response.
Hi Lawrence,
I’m doing something really stupid but I didn’t manage to download the Photo Booth software. Am I missing something? Already subscribed to ur mailling list and nothing happend. Could you please give me some directions?
Cheers,
Valdecir – São Paulo, Brazil
You have to subscribe specifically to this one (on this page) to receive the link to download. Worst case, email me and I’ll forward you a link
I have been looking for a software just like this for a long while.
Breeze systems, your competitor out of the UK does something like it…but maybe not quite the same. I was at WPPI last year, and must’ve just missed you guys! I can’t wait to use the software…subscribed, but nothig yet. Please email me the link!
I’m Super, over anxiuous…I know!
Well done!!!
Christina
I have no competitors – mine is free lol so it’s all game for anyone interested!
Lawrence, It was great to see you there last week! Thanks for having me come by and throw up the camera! See you around soon my friend!
Thank you!!! My lungs held tightly as the camera suspended in the air. I’m going to build up some courage and do the same soon.
I’m sending you an invite this week to a party! That’s granted you read this comment.
Has anyone tried this software on a Gateway Touch screen? Does it have to be the HP Touch? Or is it more about having a touch screen and and the right operating system? I did see that one person is having an issue with typing in the header on the Gateway Touch. (resolved?) And what is everyone using for lights?/Printers? Would love to see how you set yours up. Thanks again Lawrence!
I was successful with running this on a non-touchscreen PC. Of course making selections with a mouse was complicated. I wanted to see how the program worked before purchasing a HP touchscreen. Well I bought a complete system and I can not get the Logitec 9000 to work with the program. My hardware in the setup is a HP TouchScreen 300-1025, Logitec 9000, and an Epson 710. Any suggestion of what to try next would be greatly appreciated.
I was reading a review on the logitech 9000 and she was also having trouble with it and this was her reply: “be sure to close out of the QuickCam software when using the Webcam or it won’t work properly” Not sure if this will help, but thought I would throw it out there for what it’s worth. I don’t have the whole set up yet, but I’m planning on the same set up as yours. How do you like the 710?
Thank you for the info. I will look into recommendation. The 710 looks like it will give me very quick 4X6 prints for the photo booth. It is a wireless printer, but I have only used it connected through the USB cable. I could have gone with a smaller printer but the time per print would have been considerably longer. Know if I could get the Logitec to work with the program I will be all set. The program is great. I was actually waiting for it to be released from last year. The software with support for $500 would have been an easy purchase.
Gerald:
Do you mind sharing how you were able to do this on a nontouchscreen, please.
Bought a HP Touchsmart 300 and for the life of me cannot get the program to fit within my screen (resolution is 1600 x 900) = overlapping occuring. Alot of you out there have great set ups and this program is freakin amazing. Is the a hack to fix this, a forum to discuss or can anyone advise. Also plan on using live view with my Canon EOS XSi. All help is much appreciated.
A separate forum for the photo booth software would be great! My screen is off center too. Amber, I think it only works with a web cam. I tried my canon in live view and it wouldn’t work. If you do get it to work please let me know how you did it. Thanks
I have yet to be able to get the program to work with the Logitech 9000 web cam. This is really frustrating me. This program is so amazing and not being able to get it to work is just frustrating. I have disabled teh HP webcam and I have even uninstalled and installed the Logitech 9000 webcam. The webcam still does not turn on when the program is started.
REMEMBER – it must have a webcam (or live view device) in order to work
Hey Lawrence,
I have Live View, Canon 5D MarkII.
I can’t get it to read the camera either…and I have it set to live view, even disabled the webcam on my computer, so that my 5D would be the sole viewer…nothing..
Please help!
Merci,
C
I have a 15: ELO touchscreen. Anyone know how to downsize or move the image so it is centered?
Wanna start a yahoo support group?
Or Google Group! If you all want me to create it, I can and then post it here.
I think that would be great. I for one do not want to drive you crazy with questions, but I already own some equipment and would like to be able to use it with the program, rather than buy new.
Right now trying to figure out
1) What lights are best
2) How to center it so it will show up on a 15″ ELO touchscreen monitor
3) Would like to be able to print 2 strips on a Sony snaplab (like the traditional photobooth strips)
4) Would be nice to be able to activate the manual mouse for a backup computer in an emergency.
Yes Lawrence please start a google group.
Lawrence you are just full of awesomeness!!! And yes a Google Group would be fantastic. Just wanted to let you know I spoke with another PhotoBooth user, incredible guy too, about the sizing of the screen resolution. It needs to be a 1920×1080 resolution which is on a 23 inch screen for the program to look centered and fit on screen. I have tried the Gateway One 19 and the Touchsmart 300 and it would not work, I do have a HP pavillion with 23 in monitor and it works. Its great to know that we can help each other be successful like Lawrence is doing for us. Thanks Lawrence!!!! and thanks y’all!!!
Yes please start a group, this software has some serious potential. It would be great if it could control the canon remote capture software (for powershot cameras) instead of the logitech software as well as adjust a few settings like screen resolution.
look forward to seeing more.
Thanks

Any idea if the software will be incorporated in a booth? Would love to know. Thanks in advance!
I can not seem to donwload this software….. I have been an avid reader of your blogs…. funny guy you are! I am just excited to get a chance to download this software but i have been having issues – I guess being an oldy like me and not a computer savvy person makes it more difficult…..the picture print outs do help me a lot…..a visual learner I am…indeed! Hope you could help….. Thanks Lawrence…..you are a genius!
