The TSA specifies that you cannot have pockets in front of or behind the laptop as it goes through a scanner. The rest of the bag needs to fold away from the laptop compartment which this does not do. While it might have worked once, it does not mean it is compliant with the regulations. Most "messenger-style" bags are not TSA compliant. Any sleeve (no pockets), or bag that butterflies or tri-folds open (separating the laptop pocket from the rest of the pockets) will work - this one definitely does not.
